Portugal Fashion FW1819 in Lisbon | Fashion without boundaries! Let’s find all about?

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

– Coco Chanel, French fashion designer, 1883-1971

Nowadays, in the fashion realm, trends are saturated & everything is allowed – or almost. There is no sense anymore to restrict collections to asymmetries, colours or patterns – even if in the end, it might characterize the technical aspects of the collection. Now, we want an identity, a personality, a situation, a perception – A SOCIAL & INDIVIDUAL PURPOSE!

Just like the vision of Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel about #fashion, the 42nd edition of Portugal Fashion – in Lisbon – presented us shows full of empowerment & messages, placing #fashion where it belongs. Among others, Storytailors, Alexandra Moura, Susana Bettencourt, Carlos Gil & TM Collection were the fashion designers who, at the end of the day, touched every person – including me – in many #BeYOUtiful ways.

As we – humans – evolve & change, Storytailors during their FW18-19 fashion show presented us a fluid & transmuted collection, which mirrors the universal energy. A collection where most of the pieces could be orchestrated with others and different conversations stemmed different medleys. During the show, we could see the models holding pieces of clothing, just like humans sometimes hold back their wings. However, time keeps going & we must free ourselves while being open to experience everything that our heart calls to. If not, the universe starts work by its own hands & make #BeYOUtiful transformations in our life, just like the designers –  João Branco e Luís Sanchez – did during the fashion show with their clothes. {#manifest111}

When it comes to Alexandra Moura, her FW18-19 collection came from her inner self, exposing her past, present & certainly a brilliant future. “I AM” is the collection that brings Self-Knowledge {the antidot to mindless consumption}.

Susana Bettencourt – with a fair trade & ethical fashion concept – presented us a collection full of modernity, while keeping her nature & essence in every piece. If that wasn’t enough, I became even more in #love with the brand after talking with Susana. As she said to us “the greatest power of #Fashion is The VOICE, The Message” – & we couldn’t agree more. With this collection {#MachineAfterMachine}, Susana Bettencourt wants to create awareness around mindful changes that our society is facing – the human behaviour in society & robots. Well, ultimately with the self.

With playful colours, Carlos Gil presented a woman chic, trendy, but above all secure of herself! If there were to be a 3rd Sex & the City movie, I am sure that Samantha Jones – because of her strength & power, don’t get me wrong – would be wearing one of those amazing pieces of art. This collection could be my candy crush, but it is my #Harmony! It’s case to say:

Where were you when the lights went out?

Lastly, but certainly not the least – just following the order of the shows – there was TM Collection by Teresa Martins. From the concept of the collection to the classic – from Vivaldi (click play to get into the mood) – while the contemporary environment of the show, making a fashion moment beyond exquisite. If I had to describe the show in one word, it would be EMOTION.{#ForestPath}

Between transmutations, time-lapse, behaviour & path, each one of these collections has one thing in common:

{HUMANS}

…the true heart of fashion and all the rest, even if we talk about layers, trends, colours and forms. Because in the end, what & how we wear is a deep extension of our actions, perceptions, fears & expression.

VOZES IMPERDÍVEIS {Portugal Fashion FW18-19 Lisboa}
