Alessandro Michele will receive an Award, Have YOU Heard?

“Love me black and blue/You got no care as mockingbirds/Stares me stares at you/I don’t know how to stay afloat/Now you want to play/Why I never heard the world/I can be your moonlight/I’m not in my dress…”

Like that started the reign of Alessandro Michele at the helm of the storied billion-dollar Italian luxury brand – Gucci – while presenting the transcendent Men’s Fall/Winter 15 collection.

Well Alessandro, it seems like that after all you really heard the world!

Alessandro Michele will receive the 2015 International Designer Award in recognition of his remarkable achievements as Creative Director at Gucci during The British Fashion Awards, which takes place on Monday 23rd November at the London Coliseum.

Natalie Massenet MBE commented:

“Alessandro Michele is a phenomenon at Gucci. His exciting eclectic aesthetic has made an overnight impact on global fashion trends. It is not just that he has made the brand covetable and the product so desirable. He has also reinvigorated the retail experience bringing back playfulness and magic to the flagship store. This is a man who has his customer in his heart and celebrates them.”

However, his battles in fashion started much early. According to his biography at BoF, he studied at Accademia di Costume e di Moda in Rome and then had amazing inspiring experiences from FENDI & to Tom Ford. While at Gucci, Michele held a variety of different roles, before finally becoming the creative director. SO, YEH, I AM NOT SURPRISED (just to answer the title question).
